Gary Uftring has been a fixture to central Illinois car buyers for many years, including before he acquired his first dealership in Washington. Mr.Uftring began his automotive career on the wash rack at a small dealership in Minonk, Illinois. Armed with the determination to succeed and the desire to become a top salesman, he took advantage of opportunities as a “fill-in” sales consultant when the store was short-staffed. When he turned 18, the owner of the dealership agreed to let him sell cars full time. Because he was so young, Mr.Uftring focused on exceptional product knowledge and a passion for cars – two traits that serve him well to this day. Over the years, Mr.Uftring has developed and/or acquired multiple dealerships in central Illinois. However, his focus has always remained on great customer service and a commitment to giving back to the community.
People who know me know that my proudest moments in life usually have something to do with my children and grandchildren, but I am also proud of the time I have spent in the car business here in the Peoria area. It is not often that a person gets the opportunity to do a job they love, but I have been able to do that for the past 25 years in the car business. It is even rarer that a person finds an organization that they can work and grow in for as long as I have. I have been privileged to be part of the Uftring Auto Group family for over 20 years. I have been a salesperson, sales manager, and now a General Manager in what I believe is the premier automobile organization in Central Illinois. I hope that my years of experience can be of assistance for all of our friends now and in the future here at Land Rover Peoria.
I have 31 years of experience in the automotive industry, and have been with the Uftring Auto Group for 23 years now, the last six of those years with Land Rover Peoria! I enjoy spending time with family and friends after work. More importantly, spoiling and spending time with my granddaughter. I enjoy bowling, especially with my wife, and stock car racing; dirt track and Nextel Cup are our greatest interests.
I am a Certified Master-Jaguar Sales Consultant and Land Rover Guide serving you from the beginning here on Allen Road. I’ve been at Land Rover Peoria for over 7 years now! When I’m not assisting you in finding the vehicle of your dreams, I love to hear the Jaguar engine roar or climb the Land Rover Rock with you. It’s fun – a real high. You may find me at the Health Club, rollerblading, or enjoying life in the community with you. When the snow comes, let’s cross country ski! I have been a Jaguar Technician for 11 years now and am a Jaguar & Land Rover Master. I have my bachelor’s in Automotive Technology from Southern Illinois University. I also like cheeseburgers.
